Lynn Engle
Health Risks Programs Manager

Lynn provides leadership to the Bucks County Wellness Partnership, assessing on-going community health issues and supporting public awareness within community health initiatives. She also manages the state-funded Tobacco Control grants, including grant writing, budgeting and reporting, to enable BCHIP to provide tobacco dependence treatment group programs at locations throughout the county. Partnering with local school districts, she supports and helps develop student-lead awareness and prevention programs around the Great American Smoke-out, Kick- Butts Day and World No Tobacco Day. She also manages the BCHIP Children’s Dental Program.

Michelle Hall, CRNP, BSN
Nurse Practitioner/Clinic Manager

A Board Certified Nurse Practitioner, Michelle is experienced working with patients in many different settings, having worked in hospitals, surgical centers, and in BCHIP’s Adult Health Clinic. Michelle was Charge Nurse at Abington Memorial Hospital’s cardiovascular unit for three years. Michelle enjoys directly caring for many of the AHC patients and also oversees the operation of the Clinic and coordinates with AHC’s collaborating physicians.

Charles Whitney, MD
Medical Director/Collaborating Physician

Dr. Whitney provides the overall medical supervision for the Adult Health Clinic and provides direct medical care to patients during his semi monthly sessions. He is available for consultation with the Nurse Practitioners during all hours the AHC is open. Dr. Whitney operates at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne and has a private concierge practice as well.

Catherine Giorgio, RN, BSN
Nurse Practitioner

Cathy, a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, has been with the Adult Health Clinic for over ten years, and helped start the Clinic as it’s first Manager. Cathy came to the AHC with more than 25 years of experience as an emergency room nurse in Philadelphia. Cathy is also an Adjunct Professor in the Nurse Practitioner program at La Salle University.

Teresa McCausland, RN
Nurse Coordinator

Teresa is responsible for coordinating the flow of patients through the AHC, providing direct patient education (especially to our diabetic patients), arranging for follow up appointments to specialists, and tracking clinic outcomes and statistics. Teresa is an experienced RN who has worked in numerous capacities, including as an ER nurse and as a parish nurse coordinator for the Philadelphia Archdiocese for 10+ years.

Barbara Martinez Barbosa
Medical Assistant

Barbara is a Certified Medical Assistant and is responsible for preparing patients for their medical examinations, taking vital signs, and drawing blood work. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and provides essential translation services for our Spanish speaking clients. Barbara has been with the AHC since the clinic opened 14 years ago!

Maribel Alcaraz
Medical Assistant

Maribel is a Certified Medical Assistant who has been with the AHC for 8 years. She is responsible for preparing patients for their medical examinations, taking vital signs, and drawing blood work. Maribel is also bilingual and provides translation services for our Spanish speaking clients.

Jessica DeMaria
Medication Program Clerk/Eligibility Counselor

Jessica assists our patients with completion of applications for free or low cost medications through the Pharmacy Assistance Programs, handles the intake process for new patients, and reviews financial eligibility annually with existing patients.

Evelyn Vega
Receptionist/Administrative Assistant

Evelyn Vega, an experienced administrative assistant, is responsible for answering telephones, greeting patients, scheduling appointments, organizing medical charts, filing test results after review from the physician or nurse practitioners, and managing the waiting room. Evelyn is fluent in Spanish and English.

Diane Anderson
Administrative Assistant

Diane provides administrative support to BCHIP’s programs. Diane’s responsibilities include answering telephones, invoicing/billing, correspondence, donor mailings, and more.

Christine Kuchar
Administrative Assistant, Children’s Dental Program

Chris works with dental offices in our Children’s Dental Program to facilitate referrals, set up appointments, send out recall notices, and track program statistics and outcomes. She has been working to support patients in Bucks County for 21 years. Chris began her career at St. Mary Medical Center in 1996 and has held positions in the Cardiopulmonary Department, the Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab program, and the Sleep Lab.

Carolyn Newsom, Ph.D., Esquire
Advance Care Planning Champion

Carolyn is a certified facilitator and certified trainer for Respecting Choices. She is a community speaker and a volunteer with BCHIP, hospitals, senior centers and other organizations creating Centers of Service for Advance Care Planning in Bucks County. Her goal is to help members of our communities feel more comfortable talking about and making healthcare choices, naming an agent and completing an Advance Directive.

Carolyn has had a successful career in consulting after earning several degrees including an AB (Brown), an MBA (Wharton) and a Ph.D. (University of Pennsylvania). She earned her J.D. degree from The Delaware Law School and a certificate in estate planning from Temple University. She now practices law with a focus on estate planning and administration. She has served on the boards of St. Mary Medical Center and Chandler Hall.
