BCHIP Tobacco Control Program

For information regarding upcoming cessation programs or if you would like any information about our Tobacco Control Program, please call 215-710-2264.

As a partner with the Bucks County Tobacco Control Program, BCHIP's Tobacco Control Program provides:

  • Education for healthcare providers, especially hospital and clinic staff in "nicotine dependence treatment"
  • Patient and community education focused on specific chronic illnesses associated with tobacco use and tobacco smoke pollution
  • Smoking Cessation Programs, with special emphasis on low-income, underserved clinic patients

Using the American Lung Association's curriculum, Freedom From Smoking, smoking cessation classes meet on a regular schedule at each hospital throughout the county.  This seven-session program utilizes tobacco education, behavior modification, peer group support and fun to assist participants to quit smoking.

BCHIP provides scholarships to assure that all residents, including low-income patients, have ample opportunity to participate in smoking cessation programs.
